There have been many highlights this past year beginning with the move into our new facility, at 5015 Shoreham Place. The new office has been optimized for a return to facility-based incubation and provides an event area that has allowed us to re-launch our Special Interest Group (SIG) Events! In July we kicked off the SIGs with two 5G SIGs, two Military SIGs, a MedTech SIG, and a Cybersecurity SIG. In 2023, we anticipate more SIG events, as well as the return of our start-up Demo Day and Headliner Events, both at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall.
In November, we announced our second year of partnering with Qualcomm on the 5G Technology Incubator. Qualcomm will be working closely with EvoNexus to identify early-stage companies bridging emerging technologies and use cases with the compelling attributes of the 5G network. We are excited about the opportunities this will bring us and the San Diego community throughout 2023!
This year we have seen multi-national companies return to EvoNexus's new location to meet with our portfolio companies. Companies meeting with our start-ups include LG, Murata, Sony, and HP. In addition to corporate partners, venture capital funds are also returning to EvoNexus for in-person meetings with our start-ups.
Working from home over the past three years made it difficult to foster relationship-building between portfolio companies, corporate partners, investors, and our staff. We are changing that through special events to help build camaraderie and celebrate all of our accomplishments.
