One such piece of exclusive content was announced to the world on Wednesday, October 25th: the EvoNexus and Sharp HealthCare incubation partnership! We have always been proud of our connection to the San Diego startup community. 2023 is no different. Below are some highlights from our community events, including a business development event with Wilson Sonsini, a lessons learned from acquisitions event with Morrison Foerster, and a semiconductor event. 

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our SOLD OUT event!! The Business Development & Fundraising in the Current Environment SIG Event was a great success and we are very proud of and thankful to the panelists who took time out of their busy schedules to talk to us.

According to EvoNexus CEO, Rory Moore, "We can’t recall a technical program with EvoNexus that generated more audience interaction than the one we had last night. The moderator, panel, subject matter, and venue created the experience."

EvoNexus & Morrison Foerster hosted a fantastic panel discussion with three EvoNexus founders, moderated by MoFo partner, Steve Rowles who has a strong history of helping companies through the acquisition process.

Check out some of our portfolio company funding rounds this past quarter!

• Cycuity raised $3.5 million of Series A venture funding from Eclipse Ventures and Dorilton Ventures, putting the company's pre-money valuation at $36M. 
• Syntiant raised $56.37 million of Series C1 venture funding from M12, Bosch Ventures, and Renesas Electronics. Sunstone Management, Atlantic Bridge Capital, Alpha Edison, Millennium Technology Value Partners, Alumni Ventures, Horowitz Group, and Mirae Asset Capital also participated in the round.
• Falcomm raised $4 million of venture funding from Squadra Ventures. The funds will be used to proceeds on hiring.
• Pontoro raised $4.6 million of Series 2 seed funding in a deal led by Ulu Ventures. CSL Capital Management, W11 Capital Management, Nevcaut Ventures, Illuminate Financial Management, and other undisclosed investors also participated in the round.
• Oculi received $1M in investment as the winner of Company of the Year at the Luminate NY Accelerator Competition. 
• CARI Health awarded NIH Grant of up to $2.8M to advance remote medication monitoring. 
• Cycuity awarded seven-year $99 million IDIQ contract to address design supply chain security.

• Atlazo has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Nordic Semiconductor. 
• MeCo Diagnostics and CNIO announce positive Phase II study data. 
• FarmTogether, the US Investor, purchases Hidden Oaks Vineyards site for $3.2M. 
• QuSecure earns 2023 Cloud Computing Security Excellence Award. 
• AIR teams up with Broadfield Distributing Inc to distribute the revolutionary AIR One and AIRcloud remote production platforms through its network of dealers and value-added resellers.
• OmniSync awarded a contract by The Under Secretary of Defense, Research and Engineering to provide AI-powered research impact analysis capabilities. 
• GigaIO and Climb Channel Solutions launched partnership to support data center connectivity in the channel. 
• Carlsmed announced that the FDA granted Breakthrough Device designation for its aprevo® technology for treatment of patients with cervical spine disease. 
• Syntiant and GlobalSense introduced two cloud-free, always-on deep learning solutions for enhancing vehicle safety and security. 
• MD Revolution announced a new integration agreement with HybridChart that features charge capture, census management and discharge planning.
• Imprint Energy announced that it was acquired by CCL Industries for $27M and the Imprint Energy R&D team was welcomed into CCL. 
• Trnsact (formerly DCR Technologies) surpasses $1B in application transactions on its platform. 

• MeCo Diagnostics and Unravel Biosciences announce a prostate cancer biomarker and drug discovery partnership. 

Finally, we are excited to highlight our most recent addition to the EvoNexus portfolio:

Vonova, a Seed-stage medical device company based in San Diego, is developing the Cerebro Atlas System—the less invasive brain interface platform to improve access to treatment for epilepsy and other neurological disorders. Cerebro Atlas is a neurovascular catheter platform that is designed to access the brain surface without drilling through the skull. As a beachhead, the technology will offer epileptologists a high resolution, subdural, seizure map that is safer and more accessible than drilling through the skull. While the primary target is a new $7B epilepsy diagnostic market, the platform's potential extends to broader applications, including neuromodulation, targeted drug delivery, and brain-machine interfacing. Drawing on the transformative impact of catheter-based interventions in cardiac arrhythmia and aneurysm management, Vonova stands at the forefront of reshaping the landscape of brain interface.
