To say that we had an incredible year at EvoNexus in 2023 would be an understatement. We are proud to say that our portfolio companies secured a total of just above $438M over the course of the past 12 months. This staggering number rivals the raises that we have seen in years past, even surpassing our 2022 raise of $365M. We also saw four of our graduate companies acquired: Assured Wireless by Nextivity in January, Cardea by Paragraf in May, Atlazo by Nordic in August (fully confirmed in 4Q23), & Koji by Linktree in December.
Throughout the year, we have seen companies grow, products being developed, and companies return to in-person incubation. EvoNexus has also continued to grow throughout 2023, electing the following new board directors:
Thank you to all our Board of Directors and Corporate Partners that financially support EvoNexus and to our Selection Committee Members and Mentors who provide invaluable partnership opportunities for our startups. We would also like to extend a thank you to all of our Directors that are now hosting our events.
The EvoNexus team is kicking off the year at CES Las Vegas, January 8th - 12th. We hope to see you there! Catch us visiting our EvoNexus Portfolio Companies who have exhibits there!

2023 was the year of EvoNexus. In February, we held a satellite SIG event at Viasat. Using the momentum from 2022 and the Viasat event, we were proud to have the first EvoNexus Demo Day in four years at Qualcomm in June. Twelve companies presented, but only one could win the audience vote; CARI Health, a medical device startup focused in medication management for addiction support, was the one to take the prize! We are so excited to host another Demo Day, as are our many amazing startups who are ready to present their new ventures to an audience.
All in all we were able to hold eight SIG events throughout the year! The first was the Viasat Satellite SIG, followed by our Sharp HealthCare MedTech SIG, then the Cooley MedTech SIG featuring three of our startup founders, the Wilson Sonsini Fundraising and Business Development SIG, the UCSD Semiconductors and AI SIG, the Morrison Foerster Lessons Learned from my Exit SIG that featured three former EvoNexus founders, the BAE ISR SIG, and finally, the Cooley AI Use Cases at the Edge of the Network SIG. Add to that our Demo Day, the Headliner event we held in collaboration with TiE South Coast and Qualcomm that featured Qualcomm's CEO, Cristiano Amon, and the TiE South Coast Shark Tank that featured Rory as a judge, and we have truly had an incredible year for EvoNexus events.
